In this episode, I share the sacred download for November 2026 and the energetic shifts of speeding up and slowing down. I explore how reflection, awareness, and recognizing hidden patterns can help you break free from people-pleasing and old habits. I also share...
Have you ever worked so hard to manifest something, only to wake up one day and wonder, do I actually still want this?
Maybe it’s a career you’ve spent years building, a dream business you’ve poured your heart into, a program you’ve created, or even a relationship or marriage.
You’ve invested so much time, energy, and effort into making this desire a reality that fear of letting go has made you forget to pause and ask yourself whether it still aligns with where you want to go next.
Today, I want to invite you to pause before giving another year of your life to a dream you may have outgrown.
We’ll explore whether what you’ve been pursuing still aligns with what you truly desire, and what you might discover about changing direction in life when you permit yourself to be completely honest.
Before we dive in, I want to clarify what I mean by wasting a year.
As a spiritual teacher, I believe that even the wrong turns we take and I say wrong with quotation marks happen for a reason.
You’re not wasting your life simply because your journey takes longer than expected.
Every experience offers an opportunity to learn, grow, build relationships, and discover new things about yourself.
Whether you take the long way or the fast way, there are lessons and experiences along the journey that can shape who you become.
So, it’s not about whether you’ve wasted your life.
It’s about whether you want to continue down the path you’re on out of fear of letting go or permit yourself to choose a different one.
Do you want to take the fast way or the slow way?
That’s the question I want you to explore today.
🤔 Do You Still Want What You’re Manifesting?
Take a moment to think about one thing you’ve been wanting to manifest.
It could be a business you want to build, a career you’ve been pursuing, or a dream you’ve been working toward for years.
Whatever it is, ask yourself one important question: Do you still want it today?
Not five years ago or someday in the future, but right now.
When you quiet your mind and listen to your intuition, you might discover that your answer has changed.
Perhaps you no longer want the business you once dreamed of building, or maybe you still want the outcome but need a different way to achieve it.
I’ve been asking myself this question as I navigate changes in my own business, and I’m realizing that some things I once wanted are no longer right for me.
And that’s okay.
Changing direction might disappoint people or bring up feelings of sadness and fear of letting go, but you have to honor what your intuition is telling you.
Sometimes, we become so focused on making our dreams happen that we forget to consider whether our future selves will actually want to live them.
As we grow, our priorities change, and we discover what truly matters to us.
Maybe you once wanted a big business, but now you value having more time and freedom.
Perhaps you pursued a particular title because you wanted a sense of belonging and academic achievement, but you’ve since realized that something else matters more.
You’re allowed to outgrow your old dreams.
Permit yourself to explore what feels meaningful to you now instead of continuing to pursue something simply because your past self wanted it.
✨ Understand Where Your Desires Come From
As you reconsider what you want, ask yourself: Where did this desire come from?
Sometimes, our desires are shaped by family expectations, romantic partners, or beliefs passed down through our ancestral lineage.
Other times, we pursue things because an earlier version of ourselves wanted to prove our worth, gain recognition, or feel a sense of belonging.
Without realizing it, we can spend years working toward something that was never entirely ours to begin with.
Consider what success means to you.
Are you pursuing something because it genuinely excites you, or because you believe it’s what success is supposed to look like?
Maybe your approach made sense at one point in your life, but your priorities have changed.
That doesn’t mean you’ve failed.
It means you have new information about yourself.
Now, ask yourself another question: What did I believe this desire would give me?
Was it freedom, recognition, or a sense of belonging?
Perhaps you started a business because you wanted more freedom, but the way you’re running it leaves you feeling overwhelmed.
You might still love your business, but you may need to change your approach, establish healthier boundaries, or allow yourself to receive support.
The goal itself might not be the problem.
Sometimes, it’s the way we’re pursuing it that needs to change.
And please, don’t criticize yourself for not recognizing this sooner.
Every experience has helped you understand yourself better, and you can use what you’ve learned to make choices about changing direction in life that feel more aligned with who you are today.
🦋 Permit Yourself to Change
One of the biggest challenges of changing direction is the fear of letting go of everything you’ve already invested.
You might think about the years, money, and energy you’ve put into something and tell yourself that you’ve come too far to turn back.
But you can change direction.
You can decide when to let go of a dream that no longer feels right, even if it once meant everything to you.
And if you still want the outcome, you can choose a different way to get there.
Of course, change can bring grief.
I’m experiencing this myself as I make significant changes in my life.
There are things I’ve genuinely loved that I’m realizing are no longer right for me.
That doesn’t erase the love I had for them or make the experience meaningless.
It simply means I’m in a different season of my life.
You can appreciate something you once loved and still recognize that it’s time to let it go.
Give yourself permission to feel the sadness, uncertainty, and fear of letting go that come with change instead of rushing through those emotions.
You can honor what you’ve learned while making room for what comes next.
The people around you might also need time to understand your decisions, especially when your new direction differs from what they expected.
And that’s okay.
You can listen to their perspectives without allowing their expectations to dictate your future.
Someone questioning your choices doesn’t automatically mean you’re on the wrong path.
Trust your intuition and what you know to be true for yourself.
If you’re looking for support with manifestation, I’d also love to invite you to the Akashic Record Healing Experience, where we’ll work on clearing something from your ancestral lineage.

As you consider changing direction in life, get specific about what’s actually challenging you.
Do you still love your work but need better boundaries?
Do you need a different timeline or a new approach to reach your goal?
Perhaps you’ve been trying to do everything alone when you really need support.
You don’t have to change everything overnight.
Give yourself time to reflect, meditate, and allow the answers to surface.
Small adjustments can help you move toward a path that feels more aligned with who you’re becoming.
🔍 Ask Yourself the Questions That Bring Clarity
When you’re ready to make a decision, spend some time reflecting on these questions.
If nobody knew about this decision, would you still choose it?
If you were starting today with everything you know now, would you still pursue it?
What about this desire still feels meaningful to you?
What would you change if you permitted yourself to do things differently?
Answer honestly, without worrying about what anyone else might think.
You don’t need to have all the answers immediately.
You might discover that your dream is still right for you, but your approach needs to change.
Or you might realize that you’ve been holding on to something that no longer reflects what you truly want.
Either way, you have an opportunity to make a more conscious choice.
Don’t let another year pass because fear of letting go keeps you from questioning a decision you made years ago.
Get curious about what you want now and what might be possible if you allowed yourself to approach things differently.
Curiosity allows creativity to breathe.
You deserve to pursue what genuinely matters to you today, not just what mattered to you in the past.
💜 Honor Who You’re Becoming
As you reflect on these questions, I’d love to hear from you.
Is the desire you’ve been pursuing still aligned with who you are today?
If it is, what might need to change about the way you pursue it?
If it isn’t, what do you think your true desire might be?
Share your thoughts in the comments.
Remember, changing direction in life through small changes can lead to big transformations.
You don’t have to figure everything out at once.
Trust yourself enough to question your old plans, honor the person you’re becoming, and allow your dreams to evolve alongside you.
You’re allowed to change your mind, choose differently, and create a future that reflects who you are today.

Full transcription of the episode:
Have you ever worked really hard towards manifesting something, and then one day you woke up and you’re like, do I actually really want this? Maybe it’s your career you spent years building. Maybe it’s your dream business that you’ve been working really hard towards. Maybe it’s a program you’ve created. Maybe it’s a relationship.
Maybe it’s your marriage. Maybe it’s something really obscure that you’ve been working really, really hard towards. You’ve put so much energy into manifesting this thing that you stopped and forgot to pause and ask yourself, Is this really in alignment with where I’m wanting to go next? So today I want to invite you to pause before you give another year of your life to this dream. I want you to give me 13 minutes of your time and we will explore whether it’s still something you still desire and what you might discover if you give yourself permission to be brutally honest with yourself.
And before we dive completely in, I want to define what wasting a year looks like. Please note, as a spiritual teacher, I believe that every wrong turn we make, and I’m going to put that in quotations, is on purpose. Meaning you’re not wasting your life away. You learn experiences, you learn lessons, you create relationships along the way, you get to learn and discover new things about yourself. So taking the long way around and taking the fast way around, there are always experiences in it that we get to choose to participate in.
And so it is not a wasted life. It’s just, do you want to go fast or do you want to go slow is the question here at hand. So let’s jump in. In this conversation, I want you to bring forward one thing, one thing that you’re desiring, one thing that you’re working towards, one thing that you’re wanting to manifest that maybe you’re having a hard time making a decision around. Maybe it’s something you’ve been desiring a really long time, but I want you to pull it forward.
What is that thing? What is that thing that you’ve been desiring, dreaming, wanting to manifest, or you’ve already started working towards that very thing itself? If you’re on YouTube and you want to drop it in the comments, I’d love to know what the desire is that you’re wanting to manifest so I can witness you. And again, this thing is something you’re pursuing, something that you keep saying is on your mind, or something that you’ve been working towards for quite some time. And then this is the hard part.
I want you to ask yourself, do I really want this? This is a hard pill to swallow sometimes because if you’re letting your intuition really do the talking, not your mind, not your emotions, but your intuition, your heart, you might get an answer that you don’t like, and it’s gonna be hard. And I want you to ask yourself, do I want this today. And you might also want to put exactly what it is that you’re wanting to manifest. So do I want to offer this program today?
Do I want to create this business? Do I want to continue to— in this career today? Notice how I didn’t ask you if you want this 5 years ago or if you want it a year from now. I’m asking you, do you want it You might hear an immediate yes, you might hear an immediate no, you might be super uncomfortable because you haven’t asked this question and there’s some weird things coming up for you to take a look at. I know I’m in the process of really like shifting my business and this question has been extremely powerful for me because there are things that I have wanted and I realize I don’t— no longer want them and that’s okay.
And I’m probably going to disappoint people and I’m probably going to be sad and I’m probably gonna grieve it, but it’s okay because my intuition is telling me. No! Because here’s the thing, sometimes we’re too busy trying to make the dream happen that we forget about the person that’s going to actually live the dream itself, which is going to be your future self. And maybe you’ve actually outgrown that dream because you have grown, you’ve had experiences, you’ve created different relationships. And most importantly, you’ve learned what matters to you and what you really enjoy and what you’re willing to put your energy into.
Maybe you wanted a big business and now you want a business that gives you more time. Maybe you wanted a particular title because you thought people would respect you for it. Maybe you wanted to help people in a particular way, one particular way, but now you’re getting curious about other ways you can help people in different ways instead of that one particular way. And here’s the thing, that curiosity is required more space, because when you give it more space, more can percolate to the surface of where you’re actually in alignment to go versus just trudging away on the thing, the, the old self, yourself from 5 years ago, want it. And here’s a really powerful question that I want you to ask yourself: where did the desire actually come from?
This is such a powerful question because that desire could have been from your romantic partner, that desire could have came from a family member, that desire could have been passed on from ancestor to ancestor to ancestor, and now you’re expected to fulfill it. That desire could have been an old version of you that was still not feeling worthy, and this is the long way around to the aligned path. Because sometimes we choose things without realizing how much other people have actually influenced your decision to want that thing itself. Because sometimes we also make judgment and we go, this is what success must look like, and you see someone doing it their way, but that’s not the right way for you. And maybe that decision at that time made sense for you to work your booty off in that way to make yourself successful, but it’s no longer in alignment.
And maybe your energy is not designed to have that type of output. And here’s the thing, now you have the opportunity to look at it again. And here’s the question that I want you to ask yourself: what did I believe this would give me? Was it freedom, a sense of recognition, a sense of belonging? Let’s say you’re Pursuing a goal, and that goal is not giving you the sense of freedom, even though that’s what you wanted it to give you.
And the way that you’re pursuing it is making you feel like you don’t have room to breathe. And that’s the cool part. You might still want the goal, the desire, but the way you go about it, you can choose differently. Because it will allow you to have that space to breathe. It will allow you to accomplish the goal much easier without having to work so hard to accomplish it.
And please do not criticize yourself for not seeing this sooner, because every experience we have got us to this path today. Today. Because now you get to make decisions from getting curious and asking yourself powerful questions. Now here’s, now here’s the thing. Brace yourself because this— I’ve been caught in this trap so many times.
You are going to feel super uncomfortable when you have to make some changes, and then your emotional body and your mental body is going to come forward and you’re going to go, I’ve spent so much time, I have spent so much money, I have spent so many resources on this thing doing it this way. I can’t turn back now. Yes, you can. You absolutely can change directions. Absolutely, you can give yourself permission to let go of the desire if you’re really getting a no.
And if you’re getting to change the way you go about it, you’ve got to listen to yourself because all you’re doing if you don’t is hurting and punishing yourself because there is always a way that is the most aligned for you and it can look different from the way that you started. And let me tell you, There will be grief when you change directions. I am massively changing things in my life right now, and there is lots of grief, and I give myself permission to grieve it because just because I loved something before doesn’t mean I still don’t love it, but it’s still not right for me, and it’s okay to grieve because we are here to master grief in this lifetime. And you got to give yourself permission to grieve it. You got to give yourself permission to Feel it as well.
So feel all the feels, feel all the feelings, because you will feel free from them when you feel. You can appreciate what you learn, you can appreciate what season you’re in, feel the feelings and move forward. And here’s the other thing: people around you might need time to understand why you’re taking a different direction, and that is okay. Please do not let those people convince you to not do the thing that you know. And you’re intuitively getting that you’re not in alignment with anymore.
And sometimes people don’t have to understand the path that you’re taking because the path that you’re taking may be less traveled and less understood. And you got to trust that path because you are ultimately meant to be on it. And when you do have people challenge you, that does not mean you’re on the wrong path. You gotta trust and accept the challenge. That beacon of light that your heart is beaming onto that path, you gotta trust it.
Trust it, trust it, my friend. All right, my friend, if you like this and you’re trying to have help with manifestation, sometimes manifesting is not necessarily something that’s going on with just you. It could be something going on in your ancestral lineage, and I’d love to invite you into the Akashic Record Healing Experience where we’re going to clear out something out of your ancestral lineage. We have it going on right now. You can go to theamyrobeson.com/ancestors, theamyrobeson.com/ancestors, and you can sign up and join us in the healing experience where we’ll do something with healing your ancestral lineage.
All right, let’s jump back in. And before you make any big decision, you’re going to ask yourself, what specifically am I currently struggling with? Before you make any big decision. Do you still love the work but you need a different loving boundary? Do you still want to manifest that desire but you need a different timeline or you need to go about it a different way?
Maybe you’re trying to do everything alone and you need a team to support you, or at least one other person to support you. Get super specific because when you can get specific, you can make small adjustments To align to the aligned path. And please note that you do not have to make massive changes all at once. I actually recommend sitting with this, meditating with it, allowing the answers to percolate within your system so you can make the shifts and feel good about it at the end of the day. And what I mean by that is you might feel really uncomfortable in the beginning doing it, but at the end of this all, you’re gonna go, Thank God I did that.
Thank God I made those tough decisions. Thank God I received that intuitive guidance. Thank God that I redirected. Thank God I got really clear on the specifics of what I wanted and not based on the desire, because then I can actually couple those specifics with the desire and I course-correct it, and now I’m in complete alignment and I feel Really good about when this actually manifests, it feels like this is the version of me that I want to become. Okay, now we’re gonna— I’m gonna ask you some rapid-fire questions.
These questions are really important. I want you to answer them honestly. This is going to help you get really, really clear on everything. Once you answer them, you’re gonna have a really clear direction of where you’re going. Okay, so first question: If nobody knew about this decision, would I still choose it?
Is it a yes or a no? Another question: if I were starting today knowing what I know now, would I choose to pursue it? What about this still feels meaningful to me? What would I like to change if I gave myself permission to do so? Maybe you got a feeling, maybe you got one-word answers, maybe you got clear directions clear as day.
It is time for you to just be brutally honest with yourself about this desire so you don’t waste another year. Make the changes that that you want to make, and they’re going to feel uncomfortable. And I want to encourage you to be honest with yourself and ask yourself curious questions, because curiosity allows creativity to breathe. And you deserve to go after the things that you truly desire in this moment versus what you desired 5 years ago that’s no longer in alignment. All right, my friend, let me know in the comments Is this desire still in alignment with you?
If yes, what’s changing about it? If no, what is the true desire then? Because I’d love to hear from you. Remember, small changes happen and they build up to big changes. And so just take one little change at a time and you got this, my friend.
Please like and subscribe and share this with a friend, and I look forward to seeing you in the next one. Bye!
