SPIRITUAL UPLEVELING

A BEAUTIFUL MESS

Spiritual upleveling is a messy business. You're breaking out of old karmic patterns. You're telling your subconscious that the memories, patterning, and experiences that it's comfortable recreating are no longer necessary. You accept that you want to create new experiences, vibrations, levels of consciousness, and perspectives.

We can experience consciousness shifts in different ways. In the past, my upleveling was accompanied by physical injury or personal conflict. This year it has come alongside illness. Either way, it's a period of discomfort showing me there's a ceiling of energy, vibration, and consciousness that I've hit. It's time for me to move to the next level.

SYMPTOMS OF LEVELING UP

Anytime you are experiencing physical or emotional pain, you must seek help from a professional. Only after you have a clean bill of health can you look at these symptoms as part of a spiritual glow-up. When you are upleveling, these are some common symptoms:

  • You get sick
  • You injure yourself
  • You are told no on something you wanted to hear yes around
  • You feel uncomfortable and disenchanted
  • You can feel depressed or sad

If there are no underlying medical or mental health reasons for these discomforts, you can get curious and ask, “Is this an upleveling?” When these things occur, your consciousness, your higher self, is trying to reorganize your energy. The higher self and the universe start working together to reorganize the energy to create different experiences for you to break out of your conscious patterning.

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR

We've all heard the phrase, "Be careful what you wish for," which is never more true than when you ask the universe to help you evolve. When you're in a spiritual upleveling, it's because you've set goals, intentions, wishes, prayers, and dreams. You've told the universe, "I want this," which signals to the universe that we are ready to get the ball rolling on breaking patterns.

When we start to break those patterns, things can start getting very, very uncomfortable. When you get uncomfortable, that's a sign you're onto something big; if you can get over that little hump or that major hump of uncomfortableness, there's something beautiful on the other side.

SAFE TO BE VULNERABLE

Lobsters are a fascinating example of how we must be vulnerable to experience growth. They must release their shell to grow a new one when they grow to a certain size. There's a period of complete vulnerability while the growth completes another cycle.

You have to be willing to remind yourself you're safe, and you have to be ready to get uncomfortable. Like lobsters, we must be willing to get into a vulnerable position and release ourselves from the old so we can experience the new. That realization, "I can't live in this space anymore. I have to be willing to get uncomfortable to create something new," is where you find yourself ready for the upleveling.

Anytime you're going through a spirit upleveling, you have to ask yourself:

How uncomfortable am I willing to get in this particular moment? How can I assure myself I'm safe while I'm uncomfortable?

3 QUESTIONS

No matter what you desire to change in your life or what you desire to manifest, there are three questions you will want to ask yourself while you're in the middle of upleveling.

  1. What consciousness shift is required for me to uplevel?
  2. Who am I becoming?
  3. What action or non-action is required to have this new level of consciousness?

There are many things required to create the shifts to uplevel. When no action is needed, you are called to surrender. You might also be called to focus on breaking bad habits, thinking about things from a different perspective, and even forgiving yourself in areas of your life that you are holding onto.

If you sit with these questions and meditate on them, journal on them, and surrender, it makes it easier to be uncomfortable while you're going through this upleveling process. Just because something is familiar doesn't mean it's better. Breaking out of the known to explore the unknown brings you to a higher level of consciousness.

EXHILARATION

Upleveling on your spiritual journey can be terrifying and uncomfortable, but it can also be exhilarating. Sitting with that discomfort can bring joy and happiness as you stretch into a new level of consciousness. It's exhilarating anytime I remember this discomfort results from my desire for change.

Don't get me wrong; sometimes, it feels better to play it safe. Sometimes it feels like you're spinning out of control, and you say, "Stop. I want to get off the ride. I don't want to do this anymore." Then you can pause and ask:

❓ Can I stay here for just a couple more seconds?
❓ Just a few more breaths?
❓ Can I remind myself I'm safe?
❓ Can you come back to these questions of who I am becoming?
❓ What consciousness shift is required to become that?
❓ And what action or nonaction is required?

When you are upleveling, it's important to stop, remind yourself you're safe and ask these questions. Getting messy and super uncomfortable is okay because you can be the lobster and grow a new shell to have safety in a new, comfortable position, a new, comfortable home.

Full transcription of the episode:

At some point in your life, you will go through, or you have gone through, and you will continue to go through a spiritual upleveling. And I hope that you go through this because it means that you're raising your consciousness. You're breaking out of old karmic patterns. You're telling your subconscious that the memories and the patterning and the experiences that it's comfortable with recreating are no longer necessary to recreate. And that you want to create a new experience, a new vibration, a new level of consciousness, and new perspectives.

And it is a big, gigantic mess when this happens. I know for me, I've been experiencing some major upleveling shifts this year, a little different than I usually experience uplevels. And different people experience consciousness shifts in different ways. For me, in the past, if I'm upleveling, I will injure myself, or I'll get into a huge argument with my spouse because there's a ceiling of energy, vibration, and consciousness level that I've hit. In order to move to the next level, I have to work through that uncomfortableness. Where this year, I haven't really injured myself, but I have been sick a lot.

And there are different ways that we can uplevel. You can get sick, you can injure yourself, and you can be told no. You can feel really uncomfortable, disenchanted, uneasy. You can have some mental health stuff going on, like feeling depressed or sad. When these things occur, part of the reasoning is your consciousness, your higher self is trying to reorganize your energy in a different way. And the higher self and the universe start working together to reorganize the energy to create different experiences for you to break out of your conscious patterning. And this is really important.

Have you ever heard of the phrase, "Be careful what you wish for?" And there's a reason why that phrase is so important to remember when you're spiritually upleveling. When you're spiritually upleveling, it's usually because you've set goals, intentions, wishes, prayers, and dreams. You set them in some way, shape, or form you said, "Hey, I want this." And when you set those intentions, it sends a signal to the universe to say, "Hey, we have to start breaking these unconscious/conscious patterning."

And when we start to break them, things are going to start getting very, very uncomfortable. And when they start getting uncomfortable, that's when you know you're on to something big, that if you can just get over that little hump, or that major hump of uncomfortableness, there's something beautiful on the other side. You have to be willing to remind yourself you're safe, and you have to be willing to get uncomfortable.

I believe lobsters when they grow to a certain size that their shell cannot hold onto anymore, they get uncomfortable, and they have to be willing to get into a vulnerable position and release themselves from their shell to grow a new shell. It's a matter of safety, but it's also a matter of "I can't live in this space anymore. So I have to be willing to get uncomfortable to create something new." And so anytime you're going through a spirit upleveling, you have to ask yourself, how uncomfortable am I willing to get in this particular moment? And how much can I remind myself I'm safe while I'm uncomfortable?

Because here's the thing. If you do this, if you get uncomfortable, if you start to be willing to poke the areas that you're scared to poke, your life will change. You have to stay grounded, you have to stay rooted, and you have to remind yourself what it is that you are creating that is new, that is creating the discomfort. Because then you have your eye on the prize.

So let's say you're wanting to start a new career. Well, who do you have to become to create that new career? Let's say you're wanting to manifest some material thing. What work, effort, and resources do you have to put into that work? No matter what you are desiring to change in your life, what you are desiring to manifest, there are going to be three questions that you're going to want to ask yourself while you're in the middle of upleveling.

And those three questions are:

  1. What consciousness shift is required for me to uplevel? So what consciousness shift is required for me to uplevel? So if you think about it, there's a shift in consciousness.
  2. And so the next question helps with this as well, so that these questions kind of mold into one another, and that is who I am becoming. And I think that if you ask who am I becoming, it helps answer what consciousness shift is required.
  3. And then the next question is, what action or non-action is required to have this new level of consciousness?

Sometimes no action is required, meaning it's an act of surrender, which is very, very hard. Sometimes it's stopping bad habits or stopping habits that are preventing you from having what it is that you want. Sometimes it is thinking differently about things or having a shift in perspective. Sometimes forgiveness is required. Sometimes a spiritual practice is required. Many, many things are required in order to create this consciousness shift to uplevel. But I think that these three questions are very important, and they all play into one another.

So here are the questions again.

Who am I becoming?
What consciousness shift is required?
What action or non-action is required in this consciousness shift?

If you sit with these questions and you meditate on them, you journal on them, you surrender, it makes it easier to be uncomfortable while you're going through this upleveling process. Remember, just because something is familiar doesn't mean it's better or easier because if you're super uncomfortable, it's not going to be easy. And what I mean by that is just because you're comfortable at this level of existence, this level of consciousness, at this moment in time, does not mean that this level of consciousness will get you to the next level.

What has to happen is there's a change that is required of you. And if you allow that change to happen, just because you're familiar with this comfort zone doesn't mean you're going to be happy. More joy can come from being uncomfortable. More joy and happiness can come from working through your uncomfortableness so you can be more comfortable in a new level of consciousness. But we have to unwire and untangle the subconscious memories that keep us in the same cycle.

And so, for me, this year, I'm going through some major upleveling. Like I'm always going through upleveling, but this year has been really challenging for me in the sense that I'm working on a lot of like root chakra stuff. So this is all about energy and safety and home and foundation. And so, I'm literally shaking the foundation that I am working from. And it's so scary, it's so uncomfortable. But it's also exhilarating at the same time because anytime I am uncomfortable, I have to remind myself, why am I doing this? What am I doing this for? Because there's a bigger desire here for a change, and that desire is going to win out of the uncomfortableness.

And don't get me wrong, sometimes it feels better to play safe at that moment in time. Sometimes it feels like you're spinning out of control, and you just want to say, "Stop. I want to get off the ride. I don't want to do this anymore." When that happens, you say, "I don't want to do this anymore. I want to get off the ride." Can you stay there for just a couple more seconds? Just a few more breaths? Can you remind yourself you're safe? Can you come back to these questions of who am I becoming? What consciousness shift is required to become that? And what action or nonaction is required? Because this will assist you in working through the upleveling process.

And if you're not upleveling, that means that you are okay with the status quo at this moment in time. And that is okay, too, because it just means you're being present with the creations of the reality that you are in. Meaning you're comfortable, you're okay. You're being present. You're relishing in all of the hard work that you've done. You don't have to constantly, always be upleveling, but you will uplevel throughout the year in all different areas of your life, be it a career, finance, spirituality, romance, or relationships. I mean, we have all these different categories that we can uplevel. And it's okay if you're not upleveling all the time.

But when you are upleveling, it's important to stop, remind yourself you're safe and ask these questions. And it is okay to get messy, and it is okay to get super uncomfortable because you can be the lobster and grow a new shell to have safety in a new, comfortable position, a new, comfortable home.

All right, my friends, I hope you enjoyed today's episode. Enjoy upleveling. Remember to ask these questions. Feel free to like and subscribe and share this with a friend. It helps more than you know. Look forward to seeing you in the next one. Bye.
