DISCOVERING YOUR SOUL’S PURPOSE
SMALL ACTS OF KINDNESS
I think there are many misconceptions about the topic of one’s soul’s purpose. So often, we overcomplicate the issue and create stress around what that purpose could be. We tend to think about our primary soul’s purpose without realizing we have many purposes each and every day.
We are here to be of service and help others. We all come into this lifetime with lessons to learn and experiences we are meant to have, but at the end of the day, our essence is love, and we are here to help others. When you lend a helping hand to someone in need, you are living your soul’s purpose. Perhaps you:
- Helped someone carry their groceries to the car
- Assisted someone across a busy street
- Gave directions to a lost person
- Listened to someone who needed to talk
These actions are all soul-purpose missions that we often overlook. One small act of kindness dramatically impacts both the recipient and the giver.
Small acts of kindness make a huge impact.
EACH CHAPTER HOLDS A LESSON
We have many purposes throughout each chapter of our lives. One chapter could be finding empathy. For this chapter, your soul’s purpose may be to learn how to hold space. You may also need to learn how to be in an experience with another person. Another chapter of your life could teach you to have more compassion, while another could be learning to have forgiveness for yourself and others.
We are going to have many, many experiences in our lifetimes. How we choose to react to those experiences shapes the unfolding of our journey. When we recognize that each experience has its own purpose, we can stop waiting for a grandiose vision to grow from those experiences.
When we stay focused on each chapter of our lives, we can see the purpose of each experience.
ONLY FOR A SEASON
Wherever you’re at in your journey, there is a purpose that you are serving. It could be for the collective, your family, and yourself. Are those purposes different from one another? Possibly. You might be working on forgiveness while also empowering others to believe in themselves. These two purposes can co-exist in that particular chapter of your life.
The key is knowing you will not be in that chapter forever. Sometimes we hold onto purposes for longer than we need to. You’ve learned from your experience. You’ve given everything you can provide in that particular moment, and it’s time for you to move to the next chapter so you can grow and the people you’re impacting can grow.
No chapter in life is forever. We move through experiences to learn what we need to learn and then move on to the next chapter.
NEW HORIZONS
Sometimes, we have to say goodbye and close the doors on something, even if we are good at it. We often feel we have to stay in the same place because we found purpose in that space for a season of our lives. But are you bored? Do you want to be stretched?
Perhaps you are a homemaker, and when you decided to take on this role, you met it with excitement because you knew it was your purpose. Maybe after a while, you feel your heart guiding you to do something different, but you don’t want to disappoint the people in your life that are accustomed to you being in that role.
It’s okay to step out of that role and into a new one. You don’t have to drop everything suddenly, but you can start to dream about how the next chapter of your life will look. Sometimes we get stuck in a corner and begin to dim our light to meet the expectations of others, and when we stay in that vibration, we can get sick. Looking out to new horizons is part of our purpose evolving.
PURPOSED TO CREATE
We were created to create. Part of our soul’s purpose is to co-create with the universe and experience all we can for our soul’s evolution. The more we allow ourselves to change and make different decisions, the more doors open.
Change is inevitable. The key is being willing to go in a different direction with your purpose. Yes, you might disappoint those around you. But, ultimately, you have to follow your heart’s guidance. Sometimes changing direction can mean entering a whole new arena in life, and that’s okay!
We are meant to co-create with the universe. Our soul’s purpose is creation.
DEGREES OF CHANGE
When faced with a change of direction, it can be just slight degrees of change. These subtle degrees of change are often easier on our nervous system. It helps our human brains contemplate the changes and be willing to move forward with them.
But sometimes, we need to jump in, feet first, and make a big turn-around where we cut things off cold turkey. It depends on the person, the chapter, and their willingness to listen to the universe, sending them signs and signals that it’s time to prepare for the next chapter.
Sometimes change comes slowly, and sometimes it comes in fast!
PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR CURIOSITY
I will often start getting downloads and intuitive insights into things that interest me. I begin to pay attention to those interests because, in the grand scheme of things and in the wholeness of creation, I know my interest is peaked for some curious reason. It’s essential to scratch that curiosity and start diving deeper into some of these areas in my life.
Sometimes it will end up as a single conversation with someone. Sometimes these curiosities change the entire landscape of my life. Being willing to explore these curiosities and make those changes by small degrees or sweeping movements helps me discover more layers to my soul’s purpose.
HERE’S YOUR SIGN
Some of us manifest with big, drastic changes like injury or illness. Sometimes, we ignore the signs the universe is sending and end up experiencing a needed change we were, at first, unwilling to make.
Let me give you an example. Maybe the universe is asking you to form new relationships and look at the ones you are in more clearly. Your gut feeling about someone is telling you something isn’t right, but you ignore it. You don’t want to upset this person, nor the people with whom you share mutual friends. But then, the shoe drops, and this person does something terrible to you. Suddenly, you are forced into a change you could have made earlier without heartbreak, but you previously ignored the signs.
What was the soul’s purpose here? Perhaps the major purpose here was to learn how to have grounded, whole relationships that feed your soul. When we ignore the signs, the universe will get our attention in some way, shape, or form. I encourage you to pay attention to the signs and act on them.
The universe will get your attention in some way, shape, or form.
IT GOES BOTH WAYS
I have manifested in both ways. One where I catch the signs and make the changes willingly to have a graceful transition to a new purpose, and all is well. But also, I have experienced changes where I’m kicking, screaming, and dragging my feet so hard that the universe makes the change for me because it’s time to move to the next chapter.
Even when the transition was welcomed and prepared for, I can still feel sad, hurt, angry, or in disbelief. I don’t have to like the changes I need to make to understand they are for my highest good. I know it’s time for the experience to teach me and allow me to move on to the next part of my life’s purpose.
If you aren’t willing to make the changes you need to make yourself, the universe will do it for you!
WE ARE ALWAYS IN OUR SOUL’S PURPOSE
No matter what we’re doing, we’re always in a transition of change. When you recognize that change and you can embody the purpose at that moment, it prepares you for your next soul’s purpose. Sometimes a soul’s purpose is lived for many years, and sometimes it’s just for a brief moment.
Today, I’d like to ask you:
- What purpose are you in right now?
- How can you make that purpose more easeful?
- How can you pay more attention to the signs the universe is sharing with you for that particular purpose?
- What gut feelings do you have about some of the changes that the universe wants you to make?
I want to encourage you to find gratitude when you recognize that you’re in your soul’s purpose. We’re always in our soul’s purpose, and the more you realize that you’re in your soul’s purpose in every chapter of your life, the higher level of vibrational wholeness you will feel.
Remember, we have many purposes in this lifetime, so there is no need to stress ourselves out trying to determine our primary overall soul’s purpose. You are living in your soul’s purpose right now. If you feel you are transitioning to the next chapter of your life and moving into a new soul’s purpose, are you willing to get uncomfortable going into this next chapter? The next chapter is waiting on you!
We seek vibrational wholeness through our soul’s purpose.

Full transcription of the episode:
Hello everyone! Welcome to today’s episode. I am so excited you are here. We are going to talk about a fun topic that I absolutely love talking about because I think that there’s a lot of misconception around this topic and that is your life purpose. Your soul’s purpose.
We are meant to be of service and to help others. Our essence is of love and we all come into this lifetime with a particular set of lessons that we are to learn, but at the end of the day, we are to be of service. We are to help others and I think that sometimes people overcomplicate what life purpose could mean and they end up creating a lot more extra stress in their life than they have to. But what if your soul purpose was to help someone carry their groceries to their car? Or what if your soul purpose was to assist somebody in walking across the street? Or to give them directions when they are lost?
So often people think that soul purpose has to be this big, grandiose thing rather than very small acts of kindness. Small acts of kindness, when they accumulate, make a huge impact. One small act of kindness already makes a huge impact in that person’s life that received that small act of kindness. The impact that it has on the giver is also very big. But, oftentimes the giver overlooks it. What I want to encourage you to do, and to recognize is that you’re going to have many, many, many, many purposes in your life.
I’ll often tell my students that you have many purposes that have different chapters in your life. Sometimes the purpose is to find empathy. That’s your purpose in that chapter and you’re on a mission to find empathy. Maybe the next chapter is to have more compassion. Maybe the next chapter is finding forgiveness, not only forgiveness for others, but forgiveness to yourself and you gift that to yourself. Maybe the next chapter in your life is finding power, not only for yourself, but empowering others.
We are going to experience many, many things in our lifetime. How we choose to react to those things will continue to allow the journey to unfold with our purposes. Because you have many, many, many purposes, and when you start to recognize that, “Oh! I don’t have to strive for this one big grandiose purpose. I can be in focus and of service in this particular chapter in my life and that is perfect!’ We all have a different set of problems depending on what chapter we are in and what we’re experiencing at that moment in time in our journey.
Wherever you’re at in your journey, there is a purpose that you are serving for the collective, for your family, and for yourself. Are those purposes different from one another? Possibly. So, you might be working on forgiveness, but you’re also being of service in making sure people understand the power that they hold. Maybe those are the two types of purposes that you’re in at that particular moment, in that particular chapter that you’re journeying through at that moment in time.
The key is that you have to be aware that you are not going to be in that chapter forever. Let me say that again. You are not going to be in that chapter forever. Sometimes we end up holding onto purposes longer than they have to be held onto. You’ve learned your experience. You’ve gifted everything you can gift in that particular moment and it’s time for you to move to the next chapter so you can grow, so the people that you’re impacting can grow.
Sometimes we have to say good-bye to things we’re really good at so that we can open up new doors and be stretched so we can live our next purpose in this lifetime. I think so often, people hold on to something because they think that is their ultimate thing that they’re meant to be doing for the rest of their life. And there could be some truth in that, but are you bored? Are you wanting to be stretched? Are you wanting to hold onto this because you’re in fear of hurting someone’s feelings?
And I’ll give you an example. Sometimes, there are women and men that are homemakers. And they take that role on and they’re excited for that role, but maybe in the middle of that role of being a homemaker, they’re heart is being guided to do something different. They’re really, really wanting to stretch themselves, and being the homemaker doesn’t feel good anymore. But they don’t want to disappoint their partner, they don’t want to disappoint their kids, so they just continue in that role.
This also goes for working people, too. How often are you in a career where you are really good at what you do but you are not fulfilled? Or maybe you’re an entrepreneur and you have been doing things that you know serve your community, but you’re no longer wanting to do them. It’s okay. That’s totally okay.
That does not mean go and drop everything you’re doing and say, “I’m not doing this anymore!” Because you are a responsible adult and you’re going to make different decisions, but you can start to dream of what that would look like. And I think sometimes when we get stuck in a corner on what we think we’re supposed to be doing, where we start to dim our light to stay in that vibration is really where we get sick.
We are meant to be creatives and we are meant to co-create with the universe and our purpose is creation. And so, the more we give ourselves permission to change, because change is inevitable, to make different decisions, to possibly disappointing other people or disappointing ourselves, new doors start to open up. But the key is you have to be willing to go in a different direction with your purpose. Sometimes the different direction can feel like you’re going in a completely different arena in life and that’s okay.
But sometimes, the different direction is just slight degrees of change. And those slight degrees of change sometimes is easier on our nervous system and our human brain to contemplate and be willing to do the changes that are necessary. Sometimes, we as humans, actually need a big turnaround where we have to just cut it off cold turkey and just make the major change. It really depends on the person, the chapter, and their willingness to listen to the universe because the universe is sending them signs and signals that the next chapter is coming. It’s time to prepare.
I will often start getting downloads, intuitive insights of things that I start to become interested in. And I start to pay attention to those interests because as I’m paying attention to those interests, I know that in the grand scheme of things, in the wholeness of creation, that my interest is being peaked for some curious reason. And it’s important to scratch that curiosity and to start diving deeper into some of these areas in my life. Sometimes it’s just meant to have a single conversation with someone or sometimes it’s to completely change the landscape of my life. And so, the more that we are willing to make those small degrees of changes, it’s easier to make the bigger changes.
Some of us though manifest with big, drastic changes. And that could be through injury, though illness or it could be through major direction changes. Let me give you an example of how the universe sometimes tries to get your attention, but you don’t pay attention. So maybe the universe is saying it’s time to make some new relationships. Maybe the universe is telling you that person that you have a gut feeling about, that you keep ignoring, is going to do you dirty, is going to do you wrong, but you keep ignoring it because that person has been in your life forever and ever and ever.
And you don’t want to let that person down, you don’t want to disappoint them, you don’t want to disappoint your inner circle of friends that’s also friends with this person, but you keep ignoring these signs from the universe, even dreams or things that you’re seeing that are synchronistic and finally, the person does something wrong to you and you have to make a major change. And maybe that major purpose in your lifetime in this particular chapter was all about having grounded, whole relationships that feed your soul as you feed their soul. And you ignore the signs and then this person does something to cause major heartache in your life so then you have to make a major change.
When we ignore the signs, the universe is going to get your attention in some way, shape, or form. Sometimes, it’s not as pretty as it can be. So I want to encourage you to pay attention to the signs. I have manifested in both ways. I have manifested where I catch the sign, I’m willing to make the changes, everything is easy with the transition. It doesn’t mean that I’m not hurt or I’m not sad or in disbelief, but it’s a more easeful transition with that particular change that’s wanting to happen.
Now, I have had changes where I have been kicking and screaming and dragging my feet on doing it because I don’t want to make the change. And then the universe makes the change for me because I’m not willing to make the change and it’s time to move to that next chapter. It’s time to have that experience. It’s time to learn. And then I have to pick up the pieces because that’s the way that I chose to manifest that particular experience and moving into that particular chapter or out of that particular chapter of purpose.
And then there’s times where I have made major changes in my life through near-death life experiences. And if you have not had a near-death life experience, let me tell you, that is not a fun way to manifest and I don’t recommend it. But, sometimes, that’s how our soul has to have those experiences. And I have had a lot of them recently and it is just crazy! It’s crazy when these things happen and it’s because that is the way that it is meant to be because the other signs were ignored. And so you have to make peace with those decisions. I think I’m going to do an episode on near-death life experiences and manifesting in that way. I think that would be a great episode to have.
But for today, I want you to sit with this. What purpose are you in right now? What purpose are you in right now and how can you make that purpose more easeful? How can you pay attention more to the signs that the universe is sharing with you for that particular purpose? What gut feelings do you have about some of the changes that the universe is wanting you to make? Because we’re always in transition of change. No matter what we’re doing, we’re always in transition of change. And so when you recognize that change is there and you can embody the purpose in, in that particular moment, it prepares you for the next purpose. Now, purpose sometimes is lived for years and years and years. Sometimes it’s only lived for a short nanosecond.
And so, I want to encourage you to find gratitude when you recognize that you’re in purpose because we’re always in purpose. And the more that you recognize that you’re in purpose, the higher level of vibrational wholeness you will feel. And that is what we are seeking is vibrational wholeness that you recognize in your purposes. Because remember, you have many purposes in this lifetime. So stop stressing yourself out trying to figure out what the major overall purpose is. You are amazing, my friend and you are living in your purpose right now. And if you feel like you are in transition to the next purpose, how are you willing to get uncomfortable to go to the next chapter? Because that’s where you’re going to go when you are willing to be uncomfortable.
All right, my friends, I hope you enjoyed today’s episode. Make sure you like and subscribe. I look forward to seeing you in the next episode. Take care! Bye!
