The animals are showing up in a big way to bring messages, healing, and medicine for our souls. Are you paying attention to what’s showing up on your path and curious about the messages these animals are bringing you?
So many of us have always had a special connection to the animal kingdom, while others are just now noticing the animals in a big way. It’s no coincidence that our friends in the animal world are stepping forward so boldly. They are coming out of the woods, the air, the oceans, and from all the corners of this magnificent earth to share their secrets.
Have you noticed a particular animal appearing in your dreams frequently? Has a specific type of creature decided to reside in a space where you have a front-row seat to their existence? What does it mean?
You have met an animal spirit guide! I love animal spirit guides. I geek out on them and am excited to share this experience! Let’s look at how the animals are here to guide and support you on your spiritual path!
The animals are stepping forward to guide you, support you, and share their secrets!
When I started on my spiritual journey and began meditating deeply, I started to pay attention in a new way. While in this state, my power and totem animal revealed itself to me by constantly showing up. It was a golden eagle. This beautiful, magnificent creature would show up in my meditation and just kept showing up.
Whenever I felt this beautiful animal spirit guide come into my vision, into my energy field, I felt a great sense of power, connection, and humility. I realized this was a life-long guide that would be with me forever. So whenever my eagle shows up for me, I know there is an important message for me.
We have animal spirit guides to help us honor and embody values, gifts, and powers. Animal spirit guides will show up and be with you forever, or they will come into your life briefly to share a specific message relevant to your life. It’s up to you to pay attention to these messages they are bringing for you to discover.
Some animal spirit guides are life-long companions, and some are here for a season to share something special with you.
When an animal spirit guide visits you, sometimes the meaning isn’t apparent immediately. You can Google for many interpretations of what it’s trying to tell you, and it may be an “a-ha” moment where you know that particular message resonates with you. But, you might also decide or know intuitively that that’s not the message for you.
Getting curious about the message is essential if you have an animal spirit guide. Why has it been at this point in your life? Investigate it, tune in, and follow your intuition to understand the particular message!
What is the guide telling you? What do you feel the message is?
As humans, it’s easy to connect to cute and cuddly creatures like a koala or a dog, or even the majestic and powerful, like the tiger or bear. But we must remember that all members of the animal kingdom have unique qualities that we need to notice as an important message.
Creatures that might be dangerous or scary in real life aren’t a message of something drastic or unlucky coming into your life. Quite the opposite. Messengers like spiders or snakes can have beautiful messages of prosperity, abundance, and good fortune.
I believe everything that shows up for us is meant to be interpreted and understood. We have to get curious about the message and not attach ourselves to superstition or the belief that something terrible will happen to us. We don’t want to feed into that energy. We want to get curious, tap into our intuition, and receive the messages with gratitude and excitement!
I recently hosted a live retreat with healing activations that included meeting our animal guides, and one of my students asked, “Amy, I had a spider show up in my vision. What does that mean?” I was so excited for her and thrilled to share what happened to me when a spider showed up!
Over the years, whenever spiders show up for me, I usually make a lot of money and have amazingly good luck and amazing things unfolding for me. Another student expressed they had also had a spider show up in the vision. Then one by one, the group majority recalled their experiences with a spider animal spirit guide!
It was a beautiful confirmation for the entire group that these guides are here to support us and want to share beautiful things. Because one student got curious and asked what it could mean, the entire group got to reframe the idea of what each animal could bring forward for us to understand and apply in our lives.
My husband has a pillow he sleeps with but stores it under the bed during the day. Every night he shakes it off just to be sure nothing creepy-crawling has stowed away in or on it. The other night this shake-down produced a beetle! We have never seen a beetle in our house, ever! So is there a special meaning in that particular animal spirit guide that showed up for my husband? Absolutely!
Whenever you notice something, there’s a reason. When something shows up for you, it’s time to get curious about what that animal is here to bring you. If you are with someone and you both see the same thing, is the message the same for both of you? Maybe, maybe not. My husband and I recently witnessed a gigantic grasshopper in an unusual space, which caught our attention quickly. Both of us saw it, so I know that there’s special meaning in it for us both. Can it have a different meaning for both of us? Absolutely.
It might feel intimidating to tune in and interpret what an animal spirit guide is trying to tell you. You might be thinking, “I have no idea what this animal is trying to say. I don’t know how to interpret this dream, this visit, this experience…” but you have the power to understand!
When working with spirit animals, the main thing is to get curious about the message. They’re showing up for a reason, and you’re meant to listen and pay attention when they show up. As a soul living a human experience, you are being invited to understand the message, the power and influence in your life, and how this animal can support and help you.
We all receive guidance in different ways, and the animal spirits are here to help!

They all have messages. They all have special meanings. I am so excited to talk to you guys about spirit animals today. When I started on my spiritual journey, when I started to deeply, deeply meditate as an adult and I started paying attention to things, I would have this spirit animal that would show up. Now, this particular spirit animal is my power animal, my totem animal, and it’s a golden eagle. And anytime I would meditate in the beginning, this beautiful, magnificent creature would show up in my meditation, and it would just keep showing up. It keeps showing up.
And any time I felt this beautiful animal spirit guide come into my vision, into my energy field, I felt a great sense of power, I felt a great sense of connection, I felt a great sense of humility. And it was because this was my forever spirit guide. This guide is with me always. And anytime I need support, anytime this animal spirit guide shows up, I know that there’s a very important message for me to pay attention to.
We have animal spirit guides to help us with honoring and embodying values, gifts, and powers. Animal spirit guides will show up and be with you forever. And then there are some guides that show up just to share a certain message with you in that particular chapter or that particular day that you are in. It’s up to you to pay attention to those messages.
And I love animal spirit guides. To tell you the truth, I can totally geek out on them. And my husband knows that any time he shares a dream with me that has an animal spirit in it, I’m on him to investigate it, to tune into it, I will ask him, what is the guide telling you? What do you feel the message is? Because the truth is, you can look up a bunch of messages online. You could Google it, you could look at a book, and those messages can have a particular perspective that resonates with you.
But you might decide or know intuitively that that’s not the message for you. And so if you ever have an animal spirit guide show up, I want you to just get curious about what the message is. What is this guide trying to tell you? And why has he shown up or she showed up, or it has shown up to share its particular message with you?
Now, I want you to know that insects can also be animal spirit guides. And I think that we are so keen to love animal spirit guides that are fluffy, like dogs, or powerful like a tiger or a companion, like a dog or something cute like a koala. These are all guides that we’re quick to love and honor. Some people are a little more scared of other animals that show up, like snakes and spiders. But I’m here to tell you that just because these things might be dangerous or scary in real life does not mean that the message is bad or not lucky. I don’t play into that stuff.
I believe that everything shows up for us and that we are meant to interpret it and meant to understand it and meant to get curious about the meaning of things and not to attach ourselves to something super drastic, that something bad’s going to happen because you feed into that energy. And let me explain that a little bit differently.
I was at my retreat and I’m teaching, and somebody says, “Amy, I had a spider show up in my vision. What does that mean?” And I was like, ‘Yay, congratulations. That’s so awesome!” Here’s a special meaning that I have received over the years whenever spiders show up. Spiders, for me, whenever they show up, I usually make a ton of money and I usually have amazingly good luck and amazing things happen to me.
And then the person next to this person, after I share with her, this other person that asks, she goes, “I had a spider show up too, in my vision.” And then one by one around the room, everybody started saying, “I recently just saw a spider too. Me too.” So by this one person asking this question, a ton of people benefit because this person got super curious about the meaning of what was presented to her in the vision that she received during one of the healing activations. And then it was so cool because then I asked the room, “How many people have seen a spider recently?” A large majority of the participants at the retreat had.
And so it was like beautiful confirmation. And I love it because for me, spiders are my friend. Even if something auspicious or strange happens, like getting a spider bite, even if I got bit by a spider, I know that something deeper in the hearing of that is presenting itself to me. And I got to get curious about what that is.
The main thing when working with spirit animals is that you want to get curious about what their message is because they’re showing up for a reason. And when they show up, you’re meant to listen, you’re meant to pay attention. And you, as a soul living a human experience, is being invited. You are being invited to understand the message, understand the power, understand its influence in your life, and how it can support you and how it can help you. We all receive guidance in different ways.
And if you’re sitting here thinking, “I’m not intuitive, Amy, I have no idea what a special hearing is of a message that I received from this tiger that showed up a week ago or a panther that showed up in my dream.” Or like my husband was talking to me last night. He goes, “Amy, there was a beetle on my side of the bed when I shook off my pillow on the floor”, because he has a pillow that he likes to lay with at night time, and then he puts it under the bed when he goes to sleep. And so he shakes it out just in case there’s a spider or something else on it because we have some woods and insects can make their way into your house very quickly and easily. And so he has this habit of shaking it off.
Well, the beetle is there. We’ve never seen a beetle in our house ever. So is there a special meaning in that particular animal spirit guide that showed up for my husband? Absolutely. The other night we saw a huge, gigantic, grasshopper. Like gigantic. Both of us saw it. It was in an unusual spot where we saw it. So, therefore, I know that there’s special meaning in it for us both. Can it have a different meaning for both of us? Absolutely.
The key is you want to get curious. I want to invite you to something really special.
