Your beliefs quietly shape the reality you experience every day, often without you even realizing it. In this episode, I share how to uncover the hidden beliefs behind your recurring patterns and introduce a simple practice to release what no longer serves you. When you begin changing your beliefs, you begin changing your life from the inside out.

You may think you’re simply looking at your life.

But in many ways, what you’re really seeing is your beliefs being reflected back to you.

Everything you’ve decided is possible for you—or impossible for you—is running beneath the surface of your conscious mind and shaping what you experience as your reality.

I see this all the time.

So many people spend their lives trying to change their reality from the outside.

They work on their relationship with money, their romantic relationships, their career, or the way they feel about their body.

But they rarely stop to question the limiting beliefs that created that reality in the first place.

In this episode, we’re going to uncover how your beliefs quietly shape every area of your life, where those beliefs came from, and how you can begin rewriting the ones that no longer serve you.

🧠 The Hidden Beliefs That Shape Your Reality

I’m going to show you how beliefs work, where they come from, how they become your reality, how to identify the ones quietly running your life, and most importantly, how to change them.

Let’s begin with what a belief actually is.

A belief is simply a rule you accepted a long time ago.

Understanding how to reprogram subconscious mind rules starts with learning to spot this rule in the first place.

It operates beneath the surface of your conscious mind, influencing your life without you even realizing it.

You don’t usually experience a belief as a belief.

Instead, it feels like reality.

It sounds like, “This is just how life is.”

“This is how much money I can make.”

“This is how relationships work.”

“This is just who I am.”

That’s what makes subconscious beliefs so powerful.

When something feels like reality, you rarely stop to question it.

I think of thoughts as passing through your mind.

Beliefs, on the other hand, are the deeper meanings behind those thoughts.

They create the thoughts in the first place.

For example, you might think, “I shouldn’t apply for that opportunity.”

But underneath that thought may be a belief like, “People like me don’t succeed.”

“I’ll be judged.”

“I’m not worthy.”

The thought is what you hear.

The belief is the hidden rule shaping it.

Your beliefs determine whether some part of you feels safe enough, worthy enough, or believes your desires are even possible.

You may consciously want more abundance, visibility, prosperity, or love.

But if your deeper beliefs don’t support those desires, you’ll often procrastinate, pull away, make excuses, or sabotage yourself without understanding why.

I’ve seen this happen countless times with clients.

They deeply want something, but they can’t seem to move forward.

Or they finally get an opportunity and unknowingly sabotage it.

The important thing to remember is this:

Most limiting beliefs are invisible.

That’s why they can quietly run your life without your permission.

🌱 Where Your Beliefs Come From

Most of your beliefs were never consciously chosen.

They were formed when you were very young.

They came from caregivers, teachers, role models, family members, and the environment around you.

Most adults aren’t intentionally creating limiting beliefs in children.

They’re simply passing down their own fears, experiences, and understanding of the world.

As children, we absorb those messages as truth because we’re incredibly impressionable.

You may have inherited beliefs about money, success, relationships, safety, love, fun, or spirituality.

No one sat you down and handed you a box of beliefs to carry for the rest of your life.

You simply learned by observing.

Maybe you watched a parent constantly stress about paying bills.

Without realizing it, you formed beliefs like, “Money is hard to earn.”

“Money doesn’t last.”

“I have to work extremely hard just to survive.”

Maybe you were praised only when you achieved something.

That can create beliefs like, “I have to earn love.”

“I have to prove my worth.”

Or perhaps you constantly monitored everyone’s emotions because home felt unpredictable.

You learned that staying safe meant keeping everyone else happy.

This is incredibly common for empaths and those with people pleasing tendencies.

I know because I lived it.

Growing up, I believed I had to regulate everyone else’s emotions to feel safe.

That’s often where how to reprogram subconscious mind patterns has to begin—right at the belief that made staying small feel safe.

Another belief I carried was that hard work was the only path to success.

I watched my mom work endless overtime.

So I believed success required sacrificing myself.

Those self-sabotage patterns led me to overwork.

I held three part-time jobs while attending school full time.

Work became synonymous with safety.

It wasn’t until I recognized that belief that I was finally able to choose differently and begin healing it.

🔄 How Limiting Beliefs Create Patterns in Your Life

Beliefs don’t just live in your mind.

They influence what you notice, how you feel, the choices you make, and what you’re willing to tolerate.

Those choices create experiences that reinforce the original belief.

Imagine you believe, “People always leave me.”

You’ll become hyper-aware anytime someone seems distant.

You’ll notice every delayed text, every distracted conversation, every small change in behavior.

Meanwhile, you’ll likely overlook all the moments someone is showing love, care, or consistency.

Without realizing it, you’ll begin protecting yourself.

You may become guarded, anxious, overly accommodating, or afraid to express your needs.

Eventually, those behaviors can strain the relationship.

When that happens, it feels like proof that your belief was true all along.

The belief grows stronger.

The cycle repeats.

Again and again.

This is exactly why how to reprogram subconscious mind work matters more than simply trying to control your behavior.

Beliefs also affect your nervous system.

They create an energetic response inside your body.

They influence whether you naturally move toward opportunities or away from them.

Whether you feel safe or unsafe.

Whether you trust or protect.

This work is never about blaming yourself for painful experiences.

Some beliefs were formed because of genuine trauma.

Other people’s harmful choices are not your fault.

This work is about recognizing where your limiting beliefs are shaping your responses today.

Because once you become aware of them, you gain the power to choose differently.

By now, you may already recognize a belief that’s been quietly running in the background.

Sit with that for a moment.

If you’re ready to go deeper, I created a free masterclass called Awaken Your Intuition.

Inside, we use the Akashic Records and your intuition to uncover and clear ancestral and soul-lineage beliefs that no longer serve you.

I’d love for you to join us.

Either way, the real work of how to reprogram subconscious mind conditioning starts with awareness, not force.

✨ How to Identify and Change a Limiting Belief

One of the easiest ways to uncover a belief is to look for recurring patterns.

The people, places, and situations may change.

But the pattern stays the same.

Maybe you repeatedly overgive in relationships.

Maybe you reach a certain level of success and then sabotage yourself.

Maybe you keep hitting the same financial ceiling.

Maybe support never feels available to you.

Instead of judging the pattern, become curious.

Ask yourself:

What would I have to believe about myself, other people, or this situation for this pattern to make sense?

Or simply ask:

What belief is creating this experience?

Then listen.

Your intuition may answer with something like:

“I’m not lovable.”

“It’s not safe to be seen.”

“I have to earn love.”

“I’m not worthy.”

Whatever arises, don’t judge it.

Simply notice it.

You may feel sadness.

Anger.

Fear.

Frustration.

Numbness.

Those emotional responses are connected to the belief itself.

One of my favorite techniques for transforming limiting beliefs is a simple process I call CFCCF.

Catch the thought or belief.

Feel the emotion connected to it.

Cancel the belief by consciously releasing it and declaring it no longer serves you.

Choose a new belief that aligns with who you’re becoming.

Then feel that new belief in your body.

Maybe your new belief is:

“I am lovable.”

“I deserve love.”

“I receive love freely.”

“I am safe to be seen.”

Don’t just repeat the words.

Feel them.

When emotion is attached to a new belief, it begins to become part of your energetic frequency.

Then support that belief with action.

If you’ve been expecting abandonment, allow yourself to notice support.

If you’ve been avoiding opportunities, take one small step toward your goal.

As your inner beliefs begin to shift, your outer reality starts responding differently.

That’s how transformation happens.

I want to leave you with this:

Your beliefs are constantly creating your reality, whether you’re aware of them or not.

The goal isn’t to become overly positive or pretend everything is perfect.

The goal is to become curious.

Because awareness is where change begins.

Full transcription of the episode:

You think you are looking at your life and you are in a way, but what you’re really looking at is your beliefs played back to you. Everything you’ve decided that is possible for you and isn’t possible for you is running underneath the surface right now and is playing back to you what is called your reality. And I see this all the time. You spend your entire life trying to change your reality from the outside. Your relationship with money, your connection your relationships, the way you feel about your body, never once stopping and questioning the belief that actually created your reality to begin with.

So I’m going to show you how it works, what a belief is, where it came from, how it became your reality, how to find the exact one that is running your life without your permission, and how to change it. So let’s start with what a belief is and why you can’t see it. A belief is a rule you accepted a long time ago. So this rule runs underneath the surface of who you are, and it runs deeper than your conscious thoughts that you are aware of. You don’t necessarily walk around feeling a belief as a belief.

It feels more like, this is just how life is, this is how much money I can receive, this is relationships just work. This is just who I am. And this is why beliefs are so powerful. When they feel just like reality, you don’t think to question it to begin with. I like to think of thoughts as something that’s just passing through the mind, while I like to look at beliefs as the rule or the meaning behind the individual thoughts.

That are creating the thoughts to begin with. For example, you might have the thought, I shouldn’t apply for that opportunity. And what’s underneath that thought is the belief: people like me don’t get that. I will be judged. I’m not worthy of such success.

The thought is what you hear on the surface. The belief is the deeper rule that’s shaping the thought itself. A belief determines whether some part of you believes that you are safe enough, that the goal is possible enough, or that it’s even available to you, my friend. You may consciously want more abundance, greater visibility, more prosperity, but if your beliefs underneath that don’t feel worthy enough, don’t feel safe enough, it’s going to be very hard to attract those things because the belief is what creates the reality to begin with. And this is where you might consciously or unconsciously procrastinate, pull away, make up excuses, cause sabotage.

I’ve seen this so many times with my clients, it’s ridiculous. Like, they want something so badly, but they can’t even get off go. Or if they get off go, they completely sabotage the opportunity to begin with. But here’s the thing, this isn’t your fault. Most beliefs aren’t visible.

So the question is, where did they actually come from to begin with? You did not choose most of your beliefs. They were handed down to you when you were very young. They were passed down to you from your caregivers, role models, Teachers. And oftentimes adults don’t even realize that they’re doing this, but they talk about things in a way that cause beliefs to form in children.

They are often passing down fears, unresolved experiences, limiting beliefs on how they think the world works. And then that shapes your reality when you’re younger because you’re impressionable, right? You absorb these messages as truths because they’re shaping your reality and they don’t necessarily feel like beliefs. They feel like truths. You may have inherited rules, a.k.a.

Beliefs around money, success, safety, relationships, romance, fun, spirituality. No one sat down and said, here are a box of beliefs that I want you to believe in, and I want you to carry these with you for the rest of your life. They didn’t deliberately try to hurt you. Oftentimes as adults, we are unconscious of beliefs that are running in the background that we are operating on, hence why you’re watching this video or listening to this podcast. Children learn by observing.

You may have observed a parent stress out about bills or paying their bills every time they had to pay their bills, which then created the belief that money is dangerous, or money doesn’t go very far, or I have to work extremely hard to pay my bills. You may have also received praise anytime you did something good, and so the belief is I have to earn praise in order to be viewed as enough or worthy. This can also form the belief that love is earned as well. You may have monitored everyone’s emotions in the room, like their emotional state. And you form the belief that in order to be safe, you have to keep everybody in the room happy.

So you have to regulate their emotions, which is a big one for empaths. I know this is a belief I took on as a people pleaser from my childhood years. Most adults were unpredictable. So in order to predict my safety, I had to regulate everyone’s emotions. Another big belief that I took on when I was younger was I had to work really, really hard.

I would watch my mom work 40+ hours of overtime each pay period, and that was the only way you can get ahead is if you want to make money, you have to work your booty off in order to do it. And because of this belief, I overworked. I got burnt out. My My first year working, I had 3 part-time jobs. I went to school full-time, which I was working over full-time hours in my part-time job.

I had to keep working, and work also equaled safety for me as well. And so there’s this belief that if I go to work, I feel safe, which is a crazy, crazy belief to overcome. And it wasn’t until I could recognize the belief running underneath the surface that I could choose a different behavior so I can start breaking this belief itself. Now, that’s how the inherent rule, aka the belief, starts to influence your life. So how does the belief become your reality then?

A belief doesn’t just simply sit in your mind. It influences what you notice, how you feel, what you respect, what choices you make, and what you tolerate. And that’s a big one, like tolerating certain behaviors all come from beliefs. Like if you feel like you’re tolerating someone’s behavior but yet you can’t make a decision or explain why that behavior is wrong, you always get what you tolerate. Then those choices produce an outcome that prove the belief was true all along.

Let’s say you carry the belief that People always leave me. You’re going to be hyper-aware of any time someone starts to pull back, any time you start getting the spidey senses of abandonment, any time someone makes a mistake. You may become hyper-aware of when someone is distant or distracted. You might also overlook when someone is being really caring or accommodating because you’re looking for— and this is very unconscious most of the time— for the proof of abandonment. And that one’s really big.

And I see this in relationships often a lot. You might be guarded, over-accommodating, anxious, worried to express your feelings or needs. Then that creates the vicious cycle of your relationship being impacted, and then it creates the proof see that person’s distance, see that person is going to abandon me, see this person’s not showing up for me. Then the experience confirms the belief, and then the belief becomes even stronger, and then the stronger belief influences the next experience, and then the loop happens, and it loops and loops and loops until you say enough. This also has an energetic component to it because a belief creates an energetic charge an energetic response in your nervous system when you are navigating life in general.

It can also affect how your body responds, the energy you bring into the situation, and if you are guided to move towards it or away from it. Like safety in general, like do you feel safe? But this is not about blaming yourself for any bad situations or experiences you had in the past, because sometimes those experiences, those traumas, create the belief. And it’s hard to step away from the belief when we’re in blame or in judgment. And so we don’t want to sit and be in blame.

You did not create every circumstance in your life, and people’s harmful choices are not your fault. I really want to like emphasize that as we’re navigating all of this. Today. This work is about recognizing where the beliefs are influencing the parts of your experiences so you can begin to change what you choose, how you respond, what you tolerate, and what you believe is available to you. The same kind of relationship, the same money ceiling, the way you feel about your body is a belief that keeps playing back to you because the belief has not been fully questioned.

By now you may be sensing one of the beliefs that is now running a loop within your conscious or subconscious mind. I want you to sit with that for a second, and while you’re sitting with that, I want to invite you into something really special where we talk about patterns and we talk about beliefs and we heal these types of things using the Akashic Records and your intuition. I created a free masterclass called Awaken Your Intuition, where we dive deep inside of your subconscious and we clear ancestral and soul lineage beliefs. And we talk deeply about the Akashic Records and your intuition. If you’d like to join us for this free masterclass, go to theamyrobeson.com/masterclass, and I hope to see you there so we can clear out a belief that is no longer serving you.

One of the simplest ways to to uncover a belief is to simply just ask yourself, like, what are recurring patterns that I keep experiencing? The situation, the people, the environment might change, but this pattern keeps showing up. Maybe over given relationships. Maybe you hit a certain level of success and then you self-sabotage. Maybe you’ve hit a money ceiling and every time you hit a certain money goal, you overspend.

Maybe you have a hard time keeping friends. Maybe you struggle with support, that you never feel supported, or when you do have support come in, they never live up to your expectations. When you discover the pattern, I don’t want you to judge it because this is where it can get really tricky to keep the pattern in place. The belief in place is because you instantly judge it and you feel bad and you don’t want to feel those feelings. And so please don’t judge it.

Be curious about the pattern itself. And trust me, I’ve been doing this a really long time and I am blinded by some of my patterns and beliefs. And it’s not until I recognize and I’m able to admit like, this is a pattern, this is a problem, and what am I going to do about it? Then you’re going to ask yourself this simple question: What would I have to believe about myself people or this situation or these situations in order for this belief to make sense to me. So what you’re looking for is the belief underneath the pattern itself.

And you can also ask yourself, like, what is the belief underneath this pattern? What am I believing to keep creating this experience? And then sit with the answer. And then this is where your intuition may come in. You may hear, I’m not lovable.

It’s not safe to be seen. I have to earn love. I’m unworthy. Whatever the belief is, I want you to just be curious about it. And yes, it can feel like a gut punch when you hear it for the first time, or you sense it, or you feel it, or the thought pops through.

And I want you to sit with it because there’s going to be emotions that are attached to that belief as well, because the belief will create reactions in in the body, in the nervous system. That belief might create defensiveness, anger, frustration, uncomfortableness, sadness, deflation. You might even feel nothing. And what I mean by that is you might feel numb, and that is a reaction to the belief itself. So the question then becomes like, how do I change the belief?

And this is where I love sharing one of favorite exercises to do with my clients and my students. It’s CFCCF, and that is catch the thought, the belief. So you’re going to catch the thought, the belief, and then you’re going to feel the feeling attached to that thought, that belief. Feel that feeling. And I really want you to like feel what the feeling is.

Once you feel it— and it could just be a couple breaths, so let’s do it together— what is the belief? And go ahead, if you’re on YouTube, tell me what the belief is that you’re letting go of. I would love to hear from you. And then you’re going to feel the feeling attached to it. So you’re going to breathe with the feeling.

Don’t try to push it away, don’t try to ignore it, because what you’re doing is you’re making space to clear it. And so you’re just gonna feel the anger, the frustration, the disenchantment, the sadness, the annoyance— whatever the feeling is, you’re going to feel it. Simple breaths.

And then you’re going to cancel it. You’re going to mark it void, that belief that no longer serves you. And then you’ll swipe it away. And then you’re going to choose a different thought that supports your evolution, and then you’re going to feel that belief. And that might be, I am lovable.

I deserve love. I accept love freely. I’m so open to receiving love. How does that new thought make you feel? Feel that feeling and breathe it in.

And it’s important to attach the feelings and feel the feelings No matter if they’re negative or positive, we want to give ourselves permission to feel all the feelings, because when we give ourselves permission to feel the feelings, they don’t get lodged in our body. Because if we’re trying to push something away, it’s going to just be pushed down and stuck and it’s going to come out in the most inopportune time. But if we’re consciously doing these things, this will allow us to feel the feeling and release it in the most appropriate way. And so you’re going to feel it. And then that mantra, that new belief, you can ingrain it into your conscious.

You can become the frequency of that new belief by repeating it to yourself and feeling the feeling connected to it. If you don’t feel the feeling connected to it, it just becomes a jumbled mess of words that aren’t attached to anything. The belief lives outside of you. When you attach a feeling to it, it becomes one with your frequency. Itself, which becomes really, really powerful.

So again, that method is CFCCF, which is catch, feel, cancel, choose, feel. And then what I want you to do is, as you’re doing this new mantra, give yourself permission to move towards the desire, move towards the goal, to ingrain this in your reality as truth. Look for the opportunity. Look for the experience. So do the very opposite.

So if you are used to looking for people abandoning you, give yourself the opportunity to be supported. Give yourself the opportunity to move towards something that can support you. Give yourself permission to take baby action steps towards something you desire itself. And then what ends up happening is the outer shifts and the inner shifts start to dance with one another and your reality starts to change. So here’s what I want to leave you with today.

You are constantly creating your beliefs and your beliefs are creating your reality. Even if you are unconscious of it, it is just a fact of what is happening. And by making a decision to be aware of— and I’m not talking about being overly positive or overly spiritual. I want you to be curious about your beliefs, even if you are not consciously aware of it and could not previously see it as well. If this opened up something for you, comment below.
