In this deeply personal episode, I share the emotional experience of learning that my childhood elementary school was destroyed in a devastating 5-alarm fire. What surprised me most wasn’t just the loss of the building, but the buried grief, trauma, and memories that...
At some point in your life, you’re going to get this urge, this feeling, this sensation, this invitation to do something more.
Sometimes you can’t quite understand what “more” is or what exactly you’re being invited to do.
But there is a feeling, a pull, an inner urge to lean toward that purpose, that vision—even when the vision is unclear.
Some people describe this as the very beginning of learning how to reach spiritual enlightenment, because it starts with curiosity and openness.
When I first started in my career, I told myself, “I’ll do this for three years, and then I’m going to do the thing I’m meant to do.”
Those three years turned into ten.
Now I’m finally doing what I was always meant to be doing.
And I know that in my heart.
I know that in my bones.
But back then, I couldn’t quite articulate what that was.
All I did was follow the energy, the places where my heart exploded with love.
✨ Following the Signs
Spirit, your guides, your team, and your ancestors are constantly sending you signs.
Your higher self is sending you signals, too.
When you follow those breadcrumbs, your heart will expand with love, and you’ll know deep down you’re in the right place at the right time.
You don’t need to see the full picture.
In fact, one of the first lessons in how to reach spiritual enlightenment is to accept not knowing and trust your heart anyway.
That trust often begins with an inner urge that doesn’t make sense on the surface but feels undeniably right.
Sometimes, life takes us to unexpected places, and that’s exactly where these nudges show up.
So many people think that once they know their purpose, all their problems will vanish.
But that’s not true.
Purpose is not a magic wand.
Purpose is about living and creating mastery in something you love.
And it’s not always tied to a career.
Sometimes it’s about what excites you, what fascinates you, and what you’re curious enough to keep exploring until you grow into mastery with it.
🔥 The First Breadcrumbs
If you’ve ever felt nudged toward healing, intuition, or exploring different modalities, there’s a reason.
That pull isn’t random – it’s the soul tugging toward how to reach spiritual enlightenment in its own language.
For me, the very first breadcrumb had nothing to do with a modality.
It was simply this: go do hot yoga.
The first time I stepped into that hot yoga class, I felt blissful.
My body, mind, and spirit aligned in a way they never had before.
For the first time in my adult life, I felt safe inside myself.
And that was powerful because my sense of safety growing up was nonexistent.
As a child, my home environment didn’t feel safe.
So the second I was old enough to work, I worked nonstop, because work became my survival.
Working made me feel safe.
And society rewarded it—hard work gets applause.
But the truth was, I was exhausted.
I was burned out, deeply sad, and carrying unprocessed trauma.
Hot yoga was the first breadcrumb that gave me a glimpse of something different, a doorway into how to reach spiritual enlightenment without me realizing it.
The next sign I received was to go back to school.
That decision also came from an inner urge rather than a calculated plan, proving that these nudges often guide us better than reason ever could.
📚 Unexpected Turns
When I went back to school, I thought it was for one thing.
I was planning on a career in medical equipment sales, something stable, professional, and respected.
It made sense at the time.
What I didn’t see coming was that school would give me the foundation for my future business.
Because while I thought I was there for a job, I was really collecting tools that would help me live my soul’s purpose later.
Life took me on a completely different path—I moved to Charleston to be with my now husband.
I had no family there, no friends, no network, no safety net.
And for the first time, I was stripped of everything I thought defined me.
That’s when depression sank in.
I felt lost, confused, and like all the roles I had worked so hard to hold onto had been taken away.
When we’re searching for purpose, we often pass through a dark night of the soul.
And if you’ve ever wondered what is the dark night of the soul, it’s this stripping away—when everything you thought mattered dissolves so you can uncover a deeper truth.
And the truth is, it’s rarely just one night.
It can be weeks, months, or years of identity shedding.
But it clears the way for the next breadcrumb.
🌙 Dreams, Teachers, and Study
Out of that dark space, my next nudge came: learn to meditate.
After that, learn to interpret dreams.
I’d always remembered my dreams vividly, even from when I was one year old.
But as an adult, I began experiencing intense nightmares—violent, disturbing dreams that left me shaken.
I wanted to understand them.
That curiosity opened the door to my first spiritual teacher, Elizabeth Baron.
She carried abilities similar to Edgar Cayce, the Sleeping Prophet, who worked through the Akashic Records.
When I received a soul reading from her, she told me something simple yet profound: it doesn’t matter what you do right now; you just need to study.
At first, I resisted—hadn’t I just finished studying?
Did this mean more school?
But spirit doesn’t always speak in the way we expect.
What Elizabeth meant was the study of spirituality itself.
So I did.
I immersed myself in learning—meditation, channeling, mediumship, teaching, and so much more.
And what began as one step led to another, and another, and another.
🌟 The Path of Mastery
The truth is, our paths are unique to us.
What mastery looks like for me may not look like mastery for you.
But each of us is called to grow into mastery of self, and then into mastery of something we love.
And here’s the beautiful part—it can be fun.
You’re meant to enjoy the journey while you’re learning and creating mastery.
Many times, the inner urge to explore a subject is the spark that keeps you moving forward.
Often, people searching for how to reach spiritual enlightenment forget that joy is just as sacred as discipline.
Even if you never turn your studies into a business, following your curiosity will transform you.
The Records often show up when the student is ready.
If they’ve been calling to you, trust that nudge.
Because what fascinates you, what lights you up, is never by accident.
It’s leading you home to yourself.
💫 Reconnecting with Spirit
As a child, I was naturally connected to angels, God, and even little beings of light.
No one taught me to pray or create altars, but I did it anyway.
That connection was innate, but like many of us, I lost it as life unfolded.
The good news is that we all reconnect—sometimes early in life, sometimes later, sometimes even at the very end.
It doesn’t matter when.
For many seekers, the question of how to reach spiritual enlightenment begins with that reconnection.
It isn’t about rituals alone, but about listening deeply to the whispers of your soul.
What matters is living with purpose, with passion, with a heart that guides you.
You are here for both self-mastery and spiritual mastery.
Your path is uniquely yours, and your heart is the bridge between your inner and outer world.
So follow the breadcrumbs.
They will always lead you to more love, more alignment, and more of who you truly are.
With love and blessings,

Hey, Amy Robeson here. Thank you for joining me on this podcast where we talk about spirituality, the awakening process, mental health, and so much more. Join me weekly to get your weekly dose of spirituality and medicine. I look forward to seeing you on the inside. Hello, and welcome to today’s I’m so excited you are here. At some point in your life, you’re going to get this urge, this feeling, this sensation, this invitation to do something more. Sometimes you can’t quite understand what that more is or what exactly you’re being invited to do, but there is a feeling, there is a sensation, there is a to lean towards that purpose, that vision, even though the vision is unclear. I know when I first started in my career, my sense when I started in my previous career was, I will do this for three years, and then I’m going to do the thing I meant to do. And that three years ended up being 10 years. Now I’m doing what I meant to be doing. And I know that in my heart. I know that in my bones. But I couldn’t quite articulate what that was. And what I did was follow the energy where My heart exploded with love.
Let me say that again. Spirit, your guides, your team, your ancestors are constantly sending you signs, sending you signals. Your higher self is doing this as well. And if you follow the signs where your heart will explode with love, where your heart is just like, I know this is what I’m supposed to be doing in this moment, not knowing what the bigger picture is. You don’t need to know what the bigger picture is, but you know your heart is leading you. It will never lead you down the wrong path. And it’s really important for you to understand that. I think there’s this misconception that most people feel if they figure out what their life purpose is, all of their problems will go away. And that’s just simply not true. What you’re leaning towards that invitation is for you to create and live your mastery in doing something that you love. And I’m not talking about a career. In my case, I’m mentioning career. But in other people’s cases and other people’s purposes is we’re meant to be doing something that we love. We’re meant to be exploring concepts that we find interesting, we find fascinating, and you can create mastery around.
And if you are listening to this and you’ve ever thought about being a healer, you’ve thought about growing your intuition, you’ve thought about playing in different modalities, there’s a reason why you’re being led down that path. My first signal for going down this path was very simple, and it had nothing to do with learning any modality. It was a simple message from spirit, and that was to go do hot yoga. I went, and the first time I did hot yoga, I thought I was in pure, utter bliss because serotonin, dopamine, all the natural happy chemicals in my brain started firing on a different level because I listened to the guidance, I followed the breadcrumb, and I felt at home in my physical body, in my spiritual body, and in my mental body for the first time in a really long time, and probably the first time ever in my adult life, because in my adult life, I had been chasing, chasing, chasing, chasing safety. And that chasing safety was working my butt off because safety for me meant working. If I worked, I was safe because growing up, I didn’t live in a safe household.
I didn’t feel safe. And so the second I could start working, I felt safe. And so sometimes our trauma response can be rewarded in society, like working hard, you’re applauded. But in this case, I work my booty off. And so I worked and worked and worked, and I was burnt out. I was tired. I didn’t want to be here anymore. I was sad. I had so much emotional trauma that I hadn’t processed yet. I was just searching for something, and I finally did the thing that I was guided to do, and that was hot yoga. The next sign that I followed was to go back to school. I was like, I’m going to go back to school. I’m going to go get my degree and finish my degree so I could go and sell medical equipment. Because I knew a lot of friends in the medical equipment, and that would have been a really great job, a great career. It felt good. If I had my degree, I could finish it and I could get a job right away. Never once did I have in the equation that I would be moving to be with my now husband. Never once did I have in my equation that I wanted to be a spiritual teacher, a mentor. Never once did I think I would be diving into spiritual mastery concepts. And the reason why I’m sharing these first two steps is because sometimes we take steps that we don’t even think are related to our self-mastery, to our purposes in life.
But you got to follow the energy. And if I wanted to follow that energy, I wouldn’t have had the foundation steps for my business. I’m very, very grateful I went back and got my degree, even though it was meant for something else. It ultimately was used in my own business because I got my business marketing degree. And so I followed the steps. And when I went back to school, I had this one path in mind, and that path never panned out whatsoever, because by the time I was graduating, I was packing up my stuff and moving to Charleston, South Carolina, to be with my now husband, where I had no family, no network, no leads, no nothing. And where I ended up is back in a depressive state because it was the first time I ever ever, ever left home, left friends. And what I thought my identity was, was not. And it was so stripped away. And when we’re looking for our purpose, We end up going through a dark night of the soul. And that dark night of the Soul rips away a lot of identities. It’s not one night, it’s many nights.
It’s sometimes months, sometimes a year, sometimes a a little bit more. But it was a gut-wrenching experience that I had to stop and pause and ask myself again, Where am I being led? What am I being led to do? And that’s when the next breadcrumb came up. So I went from yoga to going back to school to moving to Charleston, South Carolina, to feeling like I was in a depressed state because I cracked my tailbone for the second time in my life and I couldn’t do yoga. So what did What can I do? What can I do? And what I’ve been wanting to do, and we get these urges and these senses, and we got to listen to them. And sometimes we put them on the back burner. And when they’re ready to be birthed, when they’re ready to be utilized, when they’re ready to be walked, you do it. If you are brave enough and courageous enough to do it, because it does require you to step into a new frequency. And so for me, what that looked was me wanting to learn how to do dream interpretation, wanting to learn how to meditate.
Specifically, my first desire was wanting to learn how to meditate My second desire was wanting to learn how to do dream interpretations because at the time I was having extreme nightmares of either being killed or watching some killings and things like that. And it was very, very strange, very tormented dreams that I was having. And so I wanted to understand my dreams. I wanted to understand my subconscious. I’ve always been fascinated with dreams since I was a little kid because I’ve remembered my dream since I was one, and I can remember them in great detail. So I wanted to find something that would allow me to do that. Keeping that in the back of my mind, I was like, I need a teacher. And I found my My very first spiritual teacher. My very first spiritual teacher was a woman named Elizabeth Baron. And what I ended up doing was getting a reading from her, and it was a sole reading. She did readings similar to Edgar Casey, which was the Sleeping Prophet that used the Akashic Records. He’s the most well-documented psychic. I don’t even like calling him psychic because he was an Akashic record master.
He was good. Good and very, very good. And he had the foresight to record everything and all of his documents we can look at online, which is cool to think about. So anyways, she had very cool, similar channeling abilities as Edgar Casey. She was a transmedium like Edgar Casey, and I got a reading from her. And one of the best things that she ever told me was it doesn’t matter what I do right now. I just need to study. And I’m thinking to myself, I just got done studying. What do you mean I have to study? Do I have to go back to school? I don’t want to go back to school. And this is the funny part about what When we receive guidance, it’s not always the way we perceive it the first time is what spirit means. And so it’s really funny when she told me this because all these thoughts are swimming in my brain. And And I’m like, okay, if they go back to school, what does that look like? And I essentially did go back to school, but I didn’t go back to traditional school. I didn’t go back to a university, a college, go get my master’s or anything like that.
What I ended up doing is studying spirituality as if I was getting my master’s and my doctorate because I became so fascinated with spirituality, living a spiritual life. What that look like. I find all these concepts very interesting. And I started with actually studying with her on how to meditate and then how to become a meditation teacher and how to channel and how to be a medium and things like that. And that led me down another path, which led me down another path, which led me down another path, which led me down another path. And the point I’m wanting to make here is our paths are very unique to us. And if you are being guided to have mastery in spirituality, which I honestly believe that we’re all meant to have mastery in some area of our life. First off, let me back up for a second. We’re all to have mastery for ourself. And what mastery looks for ourself and what we’re divinement interested in depends on each individual soul and what they’re here to learn and what they’re here to and what they’re here to assist humanity with and assist themselves with as well, because you’re here to assist yourself and you’re here to assist others.
So what does that look like? And can you have fun doing it? Because You deserve to have fun doing what you’re meant to be doing while creating mastery in your life. For me, I love that I get to do this. I talk to people all day long that want to do this as well. And if you’re slightly interested in spirituality, dig down that rabbit hole because that rabbit hole will take you places you never thought were possible. Even if you never intend to use this as a business, which I never intended to use it as a business, you never know where spirit is leading you. So collect the things you’re meant to collect, study the things you’re meant to study. And if the records are speaking to you, listen, listen, because oftentimes the records show up when the student is ready. And sometimes it takes a while to figure out what teacher you want to go with, but you are meant to be studying them. You are meant to be studying different modalities and things that pique your curiosity, allow you to become a better version of yourself, allow you to raise your frequency. And for me, the records have completely changed my life.
And it all started with the decision, which I can go way further back in my life, but I’m looking at just like adult decisions. I can go way further back into… I used to be extremely connected to angels when I was a kid. I would pray, though no one taught me how to do that. I had my own little altar and I collected angels, and I would talk to God, and I would talk to little alien beings that would come and visit me, and I would do these little rituals that no one taught me. I just was guided to do them because I was connected to spirit. And that’s the thing is we lose that connection as life happens, and then we reconnect with it. It doesn’t matter how old you are. At some point in time, you’re going to reconnect to it. Some people connect to it right before they’re about to die. Some people connect to it back in their 20s or 30s or 40s or 50s or 60s or 70s or 80s. It’s really fascinating when people reconnect. The main thing is that you’re living a life of purpose. You’re living a life of passion.
You’re living a life towards self-mastery and spiritual mastery because you’re meant to have a spiritual experience. And what that looks like is unique to you into your being, which is fantastic. So follow the breadcrumbs, my friend. Listen to where your heart can explode with love because you are living your path through your heart, which bridges your inner and outer world. And you deserve that, my friend. So I hope you enjoyed today’s episode. Please share this with a friend. I know you have a friend in mind that would really benefit from hearing this today. I really appreciate you. Take care. Bye.
