Episode 173: Messages from Beyond: A SoulChat with Medium Alisha Plattenburg

Amy:
I’m so happy to have you. I’m excited to talk about mediumship and the Akashic Records today. Tell everybody your journey into discovering how you knew you had mediumship abilities.

Alisha:
It’s actually a funny story. When I was really young, I was really young, I used to always see spirits in the house. We knew that our house was haunted. But being so young, you don’t understand fully when you’re seeing shadows or things moving. So you’re just screaming a lot. So letting my parents know every single thing that I was seeing, they were just trying to protect me. They’re like, No, it’s just a neighbor. It’s just the cats playing. They always had an excuse for everything. So they accidentally blocked it off. They shut that down, put barriers around me in their way of trying to protect me.
So skip ahead, almost 20 something years later, I actually heard of an Akashic Records reading for the first time ever. And so I went in for a reading, and she told me this girl was incredible. She told me more about my life than I even knew. And she told me, she’s like, Honey, you’re a lot more powerful than you realize.
And at the time, I was active duty in the army. I was like, Ma’am, I’m sitting in holes in the ground. I don’t shower for weeks at a time. I was like, I’m not that special. I promise. And she died. She’s like, No, honey. She’s like, You wait. She goes, After this reading, your life is about to change. And she was right. I was learning about just the basics, what is a spirit guide, the difference between spirits and ghosts, angel numbers, and chakras. That was just my foot in the door.
And then skip ahead, almost two years later after that, I actually found you, my dear, online by accident.

Amy:
I don’t think it was by accident. I truly think the universe brought you to me.

Alisha:
Never an accident. I do. I firmly believe that. And I saw the Akashic Records. I was like, Oh, my God. I was like, I had a reading like that And I listened to a couple of your meditations, like your activations online. I was like, This one’s amazing. I was like, oh, my gosh. It was just like that instant connection. You know when you just have that gut feeling, that strong intuition, that good connection with somebody.
I was so drawn to your professionalism, your communication, your vocabulary, how you connect with people, your authenticity, your genuineity. I loved it. I loved everything about you. Amy:

That’s the cool thing about the Akashic Records is everybody has their own unique gifts. One of my gifts is very different than one of your gifts. I don’t have the ability to channel soul on demand like you do that have transition and get the amount of details that you get. The cool thing about the records is they hold every word, deed, thought the moment your soul is incepted, And they couple well with anything else in your toolbox, meaning gifts, abilities, and any other thing that you’ve ever learned as a soul. And so for you, I always say stay in your lane. My lane is not to channel spirits that have transitioned transition. One, it’s just not something that interests me because I know that that’s not what I’m good at. But that is your lane, and you are very good at it. And the amount of details that you are able to get from a loved one that has transitioned is incredible. Absolutely incredible. Alisha:
Even I get blown away, too. I’m like, oh, my gosh.

Amy:
It’s incredible. One of my friends, they got a reading from you. There was some one of their family members transitioned, and there was some mystery around that family member’s death. And while you gave that reading, another person that they loved came through that was murdered. And you were able to share more details about that. And then you just recently gave me a reading of one of my childhood friends that transitioned, and there was a question on if it was suicide or if it was accidental overdose. And you didn’t have any details. You didn’t have any information about my friend, except for she was my friend. That’s it.

Alisha:
That’s my golden rule. That’s my golden rule when I’m I’ve been reading to you. Don’t tell me anything because I don’t want you to influence what I’m sharing.

It’s so much easier for me to just directly channel spirits in working from a clean slate versus just knowing even little a bit because then you question yourself. We’re like, well, they already told me this. But I just I don’t want to know anything about my client as much as possible, but also spirits. Golden rule, tell me nothing.

Amy:
When you start connecting with these spirits, I know you have really good boundaries. Has there any been a time where you’re just like, whoa, that was insane that that just happened?

Alisha:
Many times, yes. There was one time I was giving this lady a reading. She was from, I think, down in Alabama somewhere. Now I’m up here in Tennessee, so we were a couple of states away. I remember, she had about six or seven spirits come through for her one hour reading alone. And there was one male that stepped forward out of nowhere. I was in the middle of channeling. I was talking to one of the souls, going to town, communicating, and then all of a sudden, energy shift, complete slip. And it went from so happy, high vibrational, laughing, And then all of a sudden, it was just like, it hit like a free train. And there was a soul that stepped forward, and he was showing me my symbols for taking responsibility for his passing. This was not accidental. It was deliberate, if you can see where I’m going with this. So his motions that he would not stop doing. And I was seeing every detail, and it actually got me choked up. And I had to keep telling him, Stop.
I get it. Please stop. And he wouldn’t. The soul just… I think he was just very frustrated. And he wanted to get those messages out, and he just wouldn’t stop showing me the same motion on what he had done to himself, where I actually closed down. I closed my third eye. I closed my crown chakra so fast. I slammed it like a book, and I was like, We’re done for a second. Let’s just regroup.

Amy:
The client that received that message, how did that bring that person closure or healing?

Alisha:
Actually, it’s funny that you asked that because I almost forgot about this. In that reading, when that soul stepped forward, he didn’t cross over yet. He was in the in between.

Amy:
In the limbo state.

Alisha:
Correct. So he wasn’t officially crossed over yet. He told me, he showed me all my symbols. That’s how they communicate, clairvoyantly is like pictures. So I have symbols and images for messages. He showed me all of my messages for basically he wanted my client to tell the family how sorry he was for causing all of the burdens, fights, and separation, all the divide in the family. And then he would be able to cross over. And I told her that, and it got me choked up. And I tried so hard not to put my emotions like, This is not my reading. I don’t want I don’t put my emotions into a reading, but I got choked up.

Amy:
Oh, I cry sometimes during reading. It’s just hard not to. There’s so much emotions that come with it. And you’re feeling what that soul feels to some degree if they’re showing you through feelings. Healing as well. So it’s huge. It’s a huge honor as well. So what a huge thing.
Have you noticed, and I don’t know if you’ve had a lot of souls that have come through that have decided to transition on their own, basically unaliving themselves? Have you had a lot of souls come through that way?

Alisha:
Yes, actually.

Amy:
What is the common denominator that you’ve seen with those types of souls?

Alisha:
So just in my experience alone, even the ones who have taken responsibility for their passing, they still cross over on their own and/or with the help of family. Whenever I see hands shifting over, that’s my symbol that there was a family member that had previously passed away, that helped them transition. They’re right there with them when they take their last breath. They know they’re going to pass. Those souls move forward. They come down and literally help that soul cross over with them. That was the one experience that I have had, that that soul didn’t fully cross over.

Amy:
Well, he was waiting to get to someone like you to share his message.

Alisha:
And the amazing part, too, with that is, I remember, it was only about two or three days later. I remember I was standing in my kitchen just doing my dishes. I had music blaring. I was breaking window glass. It’s fine. Screaching. So I’m just going to town, bellowing out, and then it hit me. And I I stopped and I zoned in. And I saw he made me start crying while doing dishes. His soul came to me and literally showed me that he was walking hand in hand with God. He showed me that he crossed over. I immediately shut the water off. I stopped doing the dishes and I called my client and I was talking to her about it. I just got the chills. She started hysterically crying on the phone. So I started crying with her. And I was like, What happened? She said she had just left her family’s house. There was a bunch of them that met up for dinner, and she talked to them. She told them about her reading, and it was just not even an hour before that. And she said she talked to all of them, and they said out loud that they forgive him.
And I was like, Wow. I was like, That was a tear-jerking experience. I’ve not had an experience like that yet, but that was my first time.

Amy:
He’s blessing for his soul to rest in peace and for the family to move forward. You’re going to grieve that person to some degree until the day you die, but there’s peace. There’s peace that can be felt with these types of readings and these types of connections and things like that.

Alisha:
That’s what brings a tear to my eye is seeing people so relieved and just so uplifted.

Amy:
To me, We all have family that passes or friends that passed. You could have known your family was passing for a really long time and had time to say goodbye to them, and you still want to have a connection or one a past message from them or something like that. Or you might have a lot of questions around their death or their passing, or there might be some mystery around it, which is also really hard. And I know that you’re really good at connecting with the mystery pieces of how someone has transitioned as well. You want to talk about that?

Alisha:
Yes. So I take that on a personal level just because I know what I’m I’m full of doing. I want to bring that healing to people. I want to teach people that they can get their answers after somebody does pass. It’s not just that when somebody passes, poof, they’re gone, and I’ll never find out what happened. That’s not true. That is not true. So the fact that I’m able to give these family members that closure and that information, it’s almost, I don’t want to say game for me, but for who I am, I want to help as many families as I possibly can before I take my last breath. So it’s just a personal goal of mine to try to give as many details, as many answers as I can to those family members. It’s hard. It’s so devastating to lose somebody, not to mention when somebody doesn’t know the full details, the full aspect, what were they thinking, what were they feeling, what truly happened.

Amy:
It’s always amazing when a soul comes to you and you can receive the information, but not everybody can receive that information. I know when my step grandma passed and she came to visit, I always love when I get messages like that or when my stepdad comes through. I love it when I get messages like that, but it’s not something that everybody can even notice part of the time. Then also it’s those questions. I think those questions sometimes are really important to have some answers to bring peace to the family and to the ancestral lineage itself. Because if someone has had a tragic death and there’s a mystery or there’s a question behind it, and then there’s a lot of guilt and shame that comes around death as well. And so it’s nice to have that particular closure so that guilt and shame don’t get passed on.

Alisha:
Correct. So that is so perfectly described, perfectly worded. I have noticed, too, that it literally gives those souls that closure, too. Sometimes when they do pass, they don’t even realize that they passed away, especially if they are in the in-between. I’ve been able to help so many souls that I found that was, how do I say, lay dormant, stuck. They haven’t just fully crossed over yet. So I’ve been able to help them go to the light, go to God, look for the love and light, and to help them cross over and tell them, Hey, you’re not here in the physical world anymore. I remember one of the first times I ever actually full on channeled a soul. I remember I was sitting in my living room, one of my old houses, and there was this older gentleman who kept coming forward, and he was just pacing back and forth in front of me, like hands on the hips. He was a tall, older gentleman, and I kept seeing him Every morning. It was just under a week, maybe, and I finally got sick of it. I was like, Buddy, what do you need? What do you want?
The whole week that he was coming to me, he just kept saying he wanted his bed. His bed. And I was like, What do you mean, honey? I was like, You’re dead. You don’t need your bed. You don’t need anything. You’re okay. And he’s like, No, I want my bed. And he was literally showing me emotion. He was getting angry, and frustrated. And I physically watched him with my own eyes, jaw-dropping experience. I watched his shadow walk through the wall to my neighbor’s house. And so my husband at the time I asked him to run over next door to invite him over for your supper one night, and he did. He came over and I was like, Hey, this is going to sound weird. I know we don’t know each other that well, but this is what I do. I said, By any chance, did you get a new bed recently? And he stopped eating and he looked at me. He was like, Yeah. He was like, How did you know? I was like, A funny story. I was like, A funny story. Let me tell you how weird I am. Do you want to drink first?
So I told him about the old man who kept coming over saying he wanted his bed. And I was like, I’ll be honest with you, it’s starting to get on my nerves because he’s been coming to me every single day for a week now. And the neighbor started laughing, and he’s like, I just got a new bed. I was like, Did you find it? Like, I get a yard sale or marketplace on Facebook. And he said, Yeah, I did. I was like, I did. So we went over there and looked. And I looked at this bed, and I even said to my husband, I was like, If I crossed over, I would be hunting that bed down. And It was so beautiful. It looked like it belonged in the castle. It was so heavy, so Victorian. It was like a dark, dark brown, but it had this felt like a navy blue, like a dark blue backing to it. But it just looked so Victorian. It was so beautiful. And I was like, I would not let that go either. But I ended up opening a portal for him and helped that gentleman cross over.
And I felt it was such an energy shift in the room. The love is indescribable, like unhumanly. As soon as that portal opened and I was talking to this gentleman to go to the light, go to love, go to God, it hit me so hard, and it just felt so unhumanly. I can’t describe it. It was just amazing. And then I closed the portal, and then our neighbor never had an experience in his house again. He didn’t hear doors shutting anymore and footsteps. He said he used to hear footsteps that night. I was like, That’s not eerie at all.

Amy:
My grandma, she’s always had ghosts in her house. Always. Always has had ghosts in her house. And her old house, she lived in an old mining town in Bisby, Arizona. And so her house used to be an old saloon. And so you could hear her old, I think is it, fictrollas that would play music and things like that. And you could hear it, and you could hear the cowboy boots on the hardwood floor and things like that. And she’s always found comfort in ghosts around her house.
I don’t want ghosts in my house. I’m very clear on that. If a spirit shows up, I usually can feel it and see it or sense it, or know that it’s there right away. But even my mom, they’ve had ghosts in the house forever. So it’s one of those things where some people don’t mind it while others, it really does creep them out.

Alisha:
And sometimes it’s a soul that just doesn’t know that can transition, or it’s a family member that just wants to hang out and wait around. Just say, Hey, I’m here. I’m with you.

Amy:
It’s always interesting. I know you do house clearance for people as well. Talk a little bit about that.

Alisha:
Yes. So I do negative spirit removals or demon removals as well. But I go to people’s houses and cleanse them for them. So I just have this unique, very long process, very tedious, but I just get so thorough. I first initially walk in, just meet everybody. Hi, I’m Alisha, this, that, and the other. And then I like to sit. No, not yet. I do an initial walk through, see what I feel, hear, sense. And then after that, sometimes it’s just a family member, so I don’t have to do a full-on cleansing, but I’ll just give them a medium reading. But if I do sense something that’s negative or that doesn’t belong there, I’ll do a deep, thorough house cleansing for them and remove anything that’s not supposed to be there, some unwanted there.

Amy:
Do you find that sometimes Someone might think that there’s something going on in their house, but it’s really just a spirit that wants to talk to them?

Alisha:
Yeah. Okay. I’ve had many instances where it was solely just a loved one. There was nothing negative there, but my client can’t see them or feel them, or they felt them, but they just didn’t know. So they were freaking out a little bit, and I just gave them the reassurance. I was like, No, honey. I was like, It’s just this family member and this one coming forward just to say, Hey, I’m here. I’m actually protecting you. Awesome. So it was the complete opposite.
I see that where land and houses are their own energy, and there can be souls that are stuck there, souls that… Especially depending on where you live. It’s all energy, and it’s all connected, it’s all relative.

Amy:

Typically, if they’re coming together, they know who they want to connect with as well.

Alisha:
Yeah, exactly.

Alisha:
So your friend that passed away was actually visiting me earlier today. I’m trying to remember what she brought up. It was something very specific, and I wanted to message you, but I was running around dealing with the baby, trying to get her down. Let me see. She just brought me to her passing, and she wants to apologize to the male who found her. So that was new. But I saw her male, clear as day, and she just said, whenever I see a hand on the chest, this is like, I’m sorry. Forgive me. And when she did that, she just wants to apologize to the male who found her.

Amy:
I find all of this so fascinating. And that’s the cool thing about gifts and abilities and intuition and things like that. We’re all here to do something special and amazing. I think it’s amazing that you can connect with loved ones that have transitioned and get messages and help bring closure and things like that to families because it’s really, really incredible. Alisha. You should be super proud of yourself that you have the ability to do that. I’m honored.

Alisha:
Yeah, it’s an honor because this isn’t an everyday job. You don’t wake up and be like, when you’re growing up, you’re not just going to say, Hey, I want to talk to dead people for a living. No, you want to be a cop, you’re a firefighter, you want to be a doctor. So when I found out that I was able to do this, it changed my life. And I’m here to change everybody else’s lives. I’m here to do my job, and I I love it. I wouldn’t change this for anything. I wouldn’t.

Amy:
